Learning German should be fun!

Our classes...

Our professional team, trained either at the Teacher Training Institute DaF Freiburg or the Goethe Institute, works with the communicative method. Our classes are dynamic, challenging and above all filled with communicative exercises from the very first lesson. We have small groups consisting of up a maximum of 10 students – this helps the students develop their skills early on, and allows students to gain confidence from the very beginning, which we find both very important. As of the second week of our courses we plan excursions so that our students can put their knowledge to the test outside the classroom.  Our main premise is not to bring as many students in as possible and take them through a standard textbook; it is rather to design our courses in a way that yields the most success for each individual student.

Our flexibility...

We start with a one on one interview in which we figure out the student’s current level and aim to learn more about them, such as the type of a learning ability they have and which course model would fit best with their needs and their current life situation. Sometimes we even create a new course model addressing the specific needs of our students.

The atmosphere...

A welcoming atmosphere and respect towards our students is important to us as we know the atmosphere is an important factor for a successful learning experience. The teaching rooms are different from what one might expect from a language school and allow students to feel more at home and comfortable.

The b-sides...

With the Insula Cafeteria, the library, our film nights and other events we encourage our students to stay in touch with the German language outside the classroom and give them a room to meet and get to know other people who are also new in Cologne and are learning German.
